Cheese Toast with Nuts and Figs
This Mediterranean breakfast recipe is made of sweet ripe figs in combination with smooth cream cheese on a crispy toast covered with roasted nuts and drizzled with honey. It makes a perfect start of the day.
- 4 slices whole-grain bread rustic, spelt, whole wheat
- 4 tbsp cream cheese natural
- 1 tbsp lemon juice fresh-squeezed
- 2 tbsp natural honey
- ⅛ sea salt
- ⅛ pepper
- 4 fresh figs
- 4 tbsp nuts walnuts, pistachio
Place the cream cheese in a bowl and add the oil and lemon juice. Together, mix well, taste and season with salt and pepper.
Toast thinner slices of brown bread dry in a pan on both sides
Then pour the chopped nuts in the pan and roast them until you can smell them
Spread the toasts with a cheese spread. Place two slices
of ripe figs on two of them, sprinkle with nuts and sprinkle with honey.
