According to US News and Health Reports, the Mediterranean diet is named the best for 2019. This diet is balanced and naturally consists of unprocessed foods or refined sugars. Also, it recommends only low consumption of red meat (once or twice a month), but it includes a big variety of vegetables, fruits, or lean meats.


Last year when I left the USA my BMI was 27. Thus, I was overweight. Besides, I had bloating problems, insomnia, and constipation. Additionally, during my pregnancy, I suffered from gestational diabetes. After the delivery, I continued to suffer from insulin resistance.


I started to follow the Mediterranean Diet, cook from the over 100 years old cookbook, and I lost 30 lbs (15 kg). After a short one year…30 pounds…gone. I became obsessed with exploring different Mediterranean recipes and testing them out. My current BMI is 23.


With the Mediterranean diet, I lost weight and maintained my glucose control. Finally, I became myself.


Then I realized, the Mediterranean diet works not only if you want to lose weight, but it helps to stabilize glucose, get rid of insomnia, and constipation.
